When my mom came, she brought a bunch of my stuff that she has been trying to get me to take home since I got married. I just went through it today. There were a lot of fun memories in those boxes.
One box in particular had all of these letters from some missionary that I almost married. It really got me thinking. I am really happy to be where I am today. Married to Seth and the mother of 4 beautiful children. You often hear stories about how when someones parents die, the children are going through their things and they find these love letters between their parents and they really cherish having found them. What you don't hear about is finding love letters from some bloke that their mom dated before she even knew that their father existed.
I wasn't sure what to do with the letters. It was a huge part of my life for a while. They are my memories. I decided that since I never wanted my children to wonder about it, I would just throw them away...erase the memory, I guess. I am not going to go back and read them so I decided that there was no reason to keep them around cluttering up my house.
