A Date with Gordon

On Thursday I went out on a date with Gordon. I would have been perfectly happy just sitting and staring at him. He was so much fun to be with. We ate at Chili's. He was looking at everything as if it were the first time he had ever experienced it. When he asked me what we were going to do, I told him that we would eat and then we would run some errands. He was so excited and said, "Aaron! I like Aaron!"

After eating we headed over to Kohl's to find a jacket for Jared. We hadn't gone far and Gordon ran over to pick something up. He shouted, "A Belly Button! Someone lost their Belly Button!" He stayed right with me and when I was looking at the clearance rack, there was a swimsuit that was just his size so we bought it. He put it on as soon as we got home to sleep in it and he has worn it for the last 3 days. I don't know if it is so much that he likes the swimsuit, as much as the memory the swimsuit brings. I am happy he likes it so much and I love to see him in it, too.

Fun! That is terrific idea. I'd love to hang out with my kids one at a time.

He is such a cute little boy!

I didn't know how much fun it would be to spend time one on one, letting the kids make choices and just be who they are and not over-shadowed by the others.

I need to make a date with Jared...maybe Discovery Gateway.

In my experience though, it has been the eating out part that really opens them up and lets their personality shine.
